Speaker Nabih Berri met on Friday with the Head of the Maronite Supreme Council Former Minister Wadih Khazen and discussed with him the electoral law.         

In this context, the two officials stressed on the importance of agreeing on an electoral law that serves all parties.                                

As for the Arsal incident, Khazen quoted Speaker Berri as saying that "the incident is painful, and would deeply affect the Lebanese internal scene".                             

The Speaker also discussed with Khazen the recent accusation by the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry against Hezbollah, and said that what infuriated him the most were the constant Israeli attempts to mention Hezbollah's name in terrorist operations, among which the Burgas incident.                                      

Berri also received Justice Minister Shakib Qortbawi and the head of the International Union for Notaries Jean-Paul Decorps and discussed with them the possibility of speeding up the approval of a draft law which aims at establishing a representative council of Lebanese Notary.           

Amongst Berri's visitors was also Foreign Affairs Minister Adnan Mansour who informed briefed Berri on the outcome of the recent Islamic Summit Conference in Cairo.
