Mikati: We do not yield to threats

PM Najib Mikati praised on Saturday the efforts the Lebanese Army is exerting to maintain Lebanon's unity, independence, sovereignty and security.

Mikati who received a delegation of Muslim Scholars from Arsal stressed that targeting the LAF is unacceptable.

Mikati urged Arsal residents to cooperate with the LAF to surrender the suspects involved in the February 1st attack on a army patrol in the town, emphasizing that the Army Command is being careful while dealing with this issue.

Separately, Mikati expressed surprise at the position of the economic bodies who refused to participate in the upcoming session of the economic dialogue, stating that the bodies made a hasty and emotional decision without checking the amendments applied to the draft law of the ranks and salaries pay scale.

Mikati added that accusing the cabinet of negligence and undermining the economy is refused. "We do not yield to threats," Mikati affirmed.

He then called for examining the content of the draft law of the pay scale and the sources to finance it.
