Parents committees: We reject any wage increase at the expense of parents

Parents’ committees announced on Tuesday that Catholic schools refuse any wage increase for teachers at the expense of parents, adding that the wage hike would entail an increase in school fees, which parents cannot afford.

Parents’ committees also denounced the teachers syndicate’s call for a strike on Wednesday, adding that “this strike targets the parents since they are directly concerned with the increase”.

The committee appealed to the teachers syndicate to side with parents and schools instead of resorting to a strike as a means of preserving everyone’s interests.
