Nahhas to LBCI: It was never a one-sided cabinet

Labor Minister Charbel Nahahas told Nharkom Said TV show that the current cabinet was never a one-sided government, adding that it gathers a number of political powers that see eye to eye on certain subjects and disagree on others.

Speaking on the convulsion during Wednesday’s session amongst the ministers of the Change and Reform bloc on the one hand and those of the National Struggle Front on the other, Nahhas said: “Lebanese politicians and citizens have gotten used to chaos.”

Commenting on the wage raise decree, Nahhas said that the decree will first be submitted to the Shura council and procedures will run their natural course before the cabinet receives the decree and ratifies it.

“The cabinet refused to re-examine the decision to adjust wages despite the letters sent by the economic bodies and the Syndicate Coordination Committee”, Nahhas said.

Nahhas said that the most prominent achievement of Wednesday’s session was to revoke the decision taken by the government of former PM Fouad Siniora that decided to exempt the two mobile companies from their taxes.
