Jumblatt: State's authority must be restored

                
National Struggle Front Leader Walid Jumblatt stressed on Monday that resuming the national dialogue and confirming the matters mentioned in President Sleiman's defense plan would rescue Lebanon from the sectarian dispute.                   

"President Sleiman's defense strategy is enough to redirect the resistance's weapons towards Israel to defend Lebanon, and Lebanon only, under the authority of the Lebanese government." Jumblatt added.               

In his weekly editorial in the PSP-affiliated al-Anbaa newspaper, he called for restoring the authority of the state in Sidon to avoid the strife in the city.              

On Arsal, Jumblatt reiterated the need to hand over all suspects involved in the murder of members of the Lebanese army, which remained the only institution able to protect civil peace in the country.                  

Jumblatt tackled also the representation of Lebanese Kurds in the upcoming parliamentary elections, pointing out that this community has always been excluded from any electoral proposal under discussions.
