Sleiman hopes that Libya opens new bright page

Lebanese President Michel Sleiman hoped that the Libyan people’s plight comes to an end and that Libya opens a new bright page in its history through building a modern democratic state, joint cooperation and mutual respect.

Sleiman met with the Patriarch of Antioch and all the East Ignatius IV (Hazim) who stressed, according to the Patriarchate’s statement, the necessity to address the injustice with which the Orthodox community is treated, in order for it to assume its role and serve the nation to the fullest.

The statement added that Sleiman informed Hazim of his full support to all the rights of the Orthodox community and other communities in Lebanon.
