Speaker Berri warns against ominous security situation

Speaker Nabih Berri warned on Wednesday against the security situation’s deterioration that will take a toll on the political debates, noting that the Lebanese political officials should prioritize this issue.

During his Wednesday weekly meeting with lawmakers, Berri said that “the 1960 electoral law was buried”, adding that some new factors in regards to the elections are confirming this fact.

For his part, Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Nawaf al-Mousawi told LBCI in Ain al-Tineh that “the 1960 electoral law is an unconstitutional and illegal red herring”.
