Sharif to LBCI: Dialogue is the only solution

PM Najib Mikati's advisor Khaldoun Al-Sharif stressed on Sunday that the Lebanese people do not wish that Tripoli enters a new battle, noting that reports about PM Mikati funding armed groups are exaggeration.

Sharif told LBCI that hard work should be carried out in order to prevent strife from taking place in Lebanon, calling on all parties to let the security forces control the situation.

However, Sharif said that the only solution in Lebanon is dialogue, pointing out that “the issue of the illegal weapons should be put under discussion and settled, otherwise, Lebanon will be the only loser.”

In this context, he noted that the country is living an unstable situation, while the government and the Lebanese Army are deploying efforts to prevent chaos, stressing the need to commit to the Baabda Declaration and the self-dissociation policy.
