Teachers and public workers demonstrate in Rashaya

Teachers and public workers staged on Monday a sit-in and marched toward Bank of Beirut and the Arab Countries (BBAC) in Rashaya whereby each of Farid Kamel and Saleh Najem delivered a speech.

In this context, speeches emphasized on the importance of respecting dates of official exams and pledged to compensate for students what they skipped of the educational curricula.

Demonstrators added that they will keep on demonstrating until referring the series of ranks and salaries to the Parliament.

The Union Coordinating Committee launched its open ended strike on February 19th 2013 after making repeated called on Prime Minister Mikati to validate the new salary scale and consequently refer it to Parliament for ratification.
