MP Hout to LBCI: The Lebanese state should impose its authority on all Lebanese territories

Al-Jamaa al-Islamiya Deputy Imad al-Hout said on Monday that yesterday’s attack against the Dar al-Fatwa Sheikhs is pushing Lebanon towards engaging in internal strife, adding that officials should deal with the main causes behind this attack.                        

Hout told LBCI during Nharkom Said that it is important to stay away from sectarianism in political speeches adding that what happened yesterday is the result of attacking the Sunni community in provocative ways.                    

Hout added that the Lebanese state should impose its authority proactively on all Lebanese territories and mentioned that political factions cooperated with the Lebanese Armed Forces.             

“Parties should bear the responsibility of the sectarian tension in the country,” Hout concluded. 

Two sheikhs from Dar al-Fatwa, Mazen Hariri and Ahmad Fakhran were attacked on Sunday, in the region of al-Khandak al-Ghamik, while they were heading to Mohammad al-Amin Mosque.                         

The sheikhs were immediately taken to al-Makassed hospital for treatment.
