MP Kabbara calls for unveiling the identity of perpetrators in the attacks against Sunni clerics

          
Following the meeting held in the presence of the officials in Tripoli, Future Bloc MP Mohammad Kabbara called for unveiling the identity of all the perpetrators who attacked the clerics, voicing the need to refer the case to the Judiciary Council since it undermines the security in the country.

“We will not sit idly in light of the tumultuous incidents taking place,” MP Kabbara affirmed.          

Earlier and in a phone call with LBCI's Nharkonm Said,MP Kabbara said that Tripoli’s officials will reconfirm the role of the Lebanese Armed Forces in enforcing peace and security throughout the country.         

He called on Lebanese President Michel Sleiman and Prime Minister Najib Mikati to issue clear orders to the LAF and security apparatuses to exert maximum authority in Tripoli to preserve national security in the otherwise volatile area.       

Two sheikhs from Dar al-Fatwa, Mazen Hariri and Ahmad Fakhran were attacked on Sunday, in the region of al-Khandak al-Ghamik, while they were heading to Mohammad al-Amin Mosque.       

The sheikhs were immediately taken to al-Makassed hospital for treatment.      

The attack was not only limited to the 2 Sheikh in al-Khandak al-Ghamik; reports said that 2 other clerics were attacked in the Shiyah area.     

They were identified as Sheikh Omar Imami and Ibrahim Abdul Latif. They were transported to the Shtoura hospital after receiving first aid treatment in a Beirut hospital.
