Aoun: We oppose unjustified funding

During his weekly post-meeting press conference on Tuesday, the head of the Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun said that the bloc endorses the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL); however it is against unjustified funding the STL.

Aoun said that “in her statement issued after Monday’s meeting, U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Maura Connelly repeated what she had told me previously. “I replied that we are not bound by any convention to fund the STL”. Aoun added that even if Lebanon does not pay its share, the STL will press on with its work.
