League of LU professors: Strike ongoing as long as agreement’s items not approved

The council of delegates of the Lebanese University full-time professors’ league stressed the necessity to approve a series of ranks and salaries, as agreed with the minister of education Hassan Diab, adding that this agreement “is the minimum acceptable”.

The league said that the professors will not make any additional compromises, adding that the strike will continue if the cabinet submits a proposal that does not measure up to the professors’ demands.

The council added that its sessions are open to keep up with the cabinet’s decisions. It recommended protests and strikes in all Lebanese regions in case the items of the agreement submitted by the Ministry of Education to the cabinet were not approved.
