Israel admits it hindered arms transport to Hezbollah

The Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon confirmed that Israel is behind the air raid which was carried out in January on a Syrian weapons convoy, stressing that Israel carried out this raid to hinder the transportation of arms to "extremists".

During a press conference held with his American counterpart Chuck Hagel, Yaalon said that Israel will not allow Hezbollah to possess advanced weapons.

For his part, the US Defense Minister Chuck Hagel said: “We carried out this step when they crossed their red lines” pointing out that the air raid targeted a weapons convoy carrying surface-to-air missiles transported to Hezbollah.
