Judge Madi meets security chiefs, agrees with media officials on respecting self-censorship policy

General Prosecutor Judge Hatem Madi met on Wednesday with the Chiefs of Board of Directors as well as Directors of news and political programs in audiovisual media outlets and discussed with them the unprecedented freedom of audiovisual media in the country.                 

In this regard, Judge Madi said that he agreed with media officials on the importance of pursuing self-censorship and responsible freedom.                     

Following the meeting, Judge Madi briefed the chiefs of security apparatuses on the outcome of his meeting with media officials and their positive response regarding the compliance with the self-censorship policy.                  

On another note, Judge Madi discussed during a meeting with security chiefs held at the headquarters of the General Directorate of the State Security the joint efforts which are being exerted to enhance cooperation between security apparatuses as well as the implemented measures to maintain Lebanon's stability and the safety of citizens.          

The meeting included General Prosecutor Judge Hatem Madi, Director of the Lebanese State Security Brigadier General Georges Karaa, General Security Chief Major General Abbas Ibrahim, the Lebanese Armed Forces Director of Intelligence Brigadier General Edmond Fadel, Internal Security Forces acting Director General Brigadier General Roger Salem, and other security officials.
