Qatari PM hopes for an Iran-Saudi meeting over “assassination attempt”

Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem Al-Thani proposed, during his Sunday meeting with Iranian foreign minister Ali Akbar Salihi, an Iranian-Saudi meeting to solve the row arising from the alleged Iranian assassination plot against Saudi ambassador to the U.S. Adel al-Jbeir .

Sheikh Hamad voiced hope that the Iranian assassination attempt is untrue, adding that his country is waiting for the evidence in this regard.

Sheikh Hamad added that “the best and easiest way to solve this issue is through a meeting between both sides since the Islamic Republic of Iran as well as the KSA are large states and should be on good terms for the sake of small states in the region.”
