Wadih el Absi: Sagesse Club developments not directed against anyone

Lebanese businessman Wadih el- Absi held on Monday a press conference during which he said that the latest developments in the Sagesse Club are not directed against anyone.

El-Absi urged all parties to spare the Sagesse Club the ongoing political disputes inside the administrative committee.

He also revealed that he contacted political and religious figures to reach a solution to the pending issues.

El-Absi noted that he submitted several suggestions, mainly the suspension of legal procedures taken against the administration of the club.

He also suggested the annulment of the decision pertaining to the suspension of the administrative committee's work in exchange for the resignation of the committee on April 30 as a prelude to the June 30 elections.

Elie Mchantaf submitted his resignation as Sagesse president on Friday amid political conflicts in the club.

Members of the general assembly prepared a lawsuit against the administration claiming that the last elections contained the forged signatures of some members.

The club was supported by Lebanese businessman Wadih El-Absi before he withdrew his financial support.
