Hariri congratulates Palestine and Libya

Former PM Saad Hariri sent a set of cables on Tuesday to congratulate the Head of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas for the Palestinian’s full membership at UNESCO as well as to Abdel Rahim al-Kib for his new position in Libya.

Hariri said that the diplomatic victory achieved by Palestine is the first fruit of the struggle of the Palestinians and their long journey filled with suffering.

“I hope that their struggle will continue bearing the fruits of success in order to realize the dream of millions of Palestinians and Arabs by establishing a Palestinian State as soon as possible”, Hariri said.

Hariri also sent a cable to congratulate Abdel Rahim al-Kib for his appointment as head of the Libyan executive office, stressing that his appointment makes him directly responsible for Libya’s peaceful transition at this critical turning point.

“The Libyan people stand before the challenge of turning a new leaf, putting the bitter and tragic past behind them and laying strong foundations for a democratic state that will meet the aspirations of its people”, Hariri added.
