MP Helo to LBCI: The extension of parliament's mandate hurdles power rotation

Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Helo stressed on Thursday that his bloc is willing to file a petition against the extension of parliament's mandate before the constitutional council, noting that the democratic system requires a rotation of power, that "will not take place in light of the said extension".

In an interview with LBCI's Nharkom Said TV Show, MP Helo pointed out that "the extension of parliament's mandate violates the constitution" since the Lebanese deputies represent the people and therefore, "their mandate should not be extended without the consent of the people".
