Berri calls for resumption of stalled dialogue sessions
Following his meeting with President Michel Saleiman, Speaker Nabih Berri reiterated that he is not against resuming the former dialogue sessions with all previous items. Speaking from Baabda Palace Berri said that he seeks to engage in a forward-looking dialogue held under the aegis of Sleiman.

“At this critical juncture, Lebanon is in the eye of the storm, this is why the Lebanese need to take their future in their own hands before it is imposed on them”, Berri added.

Berri underscored the need for a comprehensive process that will settle the financial and operational problems, noting that he briefed Sleiman on the Parliament’s readiness to lend the cabinet a helping hand.

Speaking on the electoral law, Berri said that the law snubbed the idea of magnetic cards that allow voters to cast their ballot whether in Lebanon or abroad. “Magnetic cards are cost-effective and ensure free and fair elections for both voters and candidates”, Berri stressed.

Berri also convened a Q&A session on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
