United Nations says it is 'impossible' to establish 'safe zones' in Gaza

The United Nations stated on Tuesday that it is "impossible" to establish so-called safe zones for civilians within the Gaza Strip amid the Israeli bombardment. 

James Elder, spokesperson for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), told journalists in Geneva via a video link from Cairo, "What is referred to as safe zones... is illogical and impractical, and I believe authorities are aware of that."
