Pope Francis calls for halting the 'spiral of violence' in the Middle East

Pope Francis, the Vatican Pope, urged Iran and Israel on Sunday to avoid actions that could fuel a 'spiral of violence' threatening to drag the Middle East into further conflict.

Addressing the crowds in St. Peter's Square, he said, ''Enough of war, enough of attacks, enough of violence. Yes to dialogue, yes to peace.''
