Assad left Damascus for Russian base ahead of Moscow trip: Axios reports

Axios reported on Sunday, citing an Israeli official, that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad left Damascus at midnight and headed to a Russian military base in Syria, in preparation for a trip to Moscow.
