US Defense Secretary holds first call with Netanyahu to reaffirm commitment to Israel's defense

In a release, the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) stated that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth held a phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday.

The department added that Hegseth reaffirmed Washington's full commitment to ensuring that Israel receives the capabilities it needs to defend itself.

The statement mentioned, "The leaders discussed the importance of strengthening mutual security interests and priorities, particularly in the face of ongoing threats."
