REPORT: Civil society activists to demonstrate against the extension of parliament's mandate

On the 31st of May, 97 deputies made their way, amid the frustration and demonstration of civil society activists to Nejmeh Square where a law to extend the current parliament's mandate until the 20th of November 2014 was passed.

In this regard, and noting that the official mandate of the parliament ends on the 20th of June, civil society activists announced that they will be holding a sit-in outside the parliament to denounce the prorogation of the deputies' mandate.

This report will examine the demonstration that activists will carry out on Thursday to condemn the extension of the parliament's mandate.
