REPORT: Minister Ghosn denies Hezbollah’s intervention in Abra’s clashes

Caretaker Defense Minister Fayez Ghosn said that the Abra incidents were ‘essential’ to put an end to the “phenomenon of Sheikh Ahmad Assir”.

In this regard, Minister Ghosn denied what was reported about Hezbollah’s intervention alongside the Lebanese Armed Forces in Sidon, adding that LAF soldiers are capable of containing such situations in order to maintain Lebanon’s stability.

This report will examine Minister Ghosn’s stance regarding Abra’s clashes, as well as his position concerning the extension of LAF General Commander Jean Kahwaji’s mandate.
