REPORT: Lebanese leaders did not agree on isolating Mufti Qabbani

A meeting was held on Saturday between Caretaker prime Minister Najib Mikati, head of Future movement MP Fouad Siniora and Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam in Tripoli at the residence of former Prime Minister Omar Karami.

Sources told LBCI that the participants in the meeting did not agree on isolating Grand Mufti Sheikh Mohammad Rashid Qabbani.

Sources also added that the officials agreed on lifting the political, religious and legal cover on Mufti Qabbani, however, the meeting showed different points of views in this regard.

On the other hand, a source in the premiership told LBCI that the participants agreed on all pending issues during the meeting, and no disputes were reported.
