An outbreak of the ebola virus has been blamed for dozens of deaths in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, African health authorities said Friday.

The outbreak is in Ituri province. "About 246 suspected cases and 65 deaths have been reported, mainly in the Mongwalu and Rwampara health zones," CDC Africa said on a statement on social media. It added that "four deaths have been reported among laboratory-confirmed cases."
