REPORT: World’s most dangerous crocodiles spotted in Beirut River

Caretaker Agriculture Ministry confirmed to LBCI on Wednesday that a crocodile was found in the Beirut River estuary, in the region located near the Sukleen Company.

In this context, veterinary physician Walid Darwish identified the reptile as a Crocodilus Niloticus, one of the world’s most dangerous, and considered a cause for hundreds of human deaths every year.

According to Darwish, the Nile crocodile’s length ranges between 4 to 6 meters, weighing around 500 KG, adding that it is a very aggressive species of crocodile that is capable of taking on almost any animal within its range.

This report will shed light on the type of the aforementioned crocodile, as well as efforts exerted by authorities in order to find it.
