REPORT: UN chemical weapons experts begin mission in Syria

A senior United Nations team tasked with investigating the alleged use of chemical weapons in Syria's civil war began a mission to Damascus on Wednesday July 24th, upon a call from Damascus launched on the 9th of July.

The Syrian government did not deny possessing chemical weapons, leading the Western states to warn Syria against the dangers of using such arms.

This report will shed light on several events that led the Syrian regime and the opposition forces to exchange accusations regarding the use of the chemical weapons.
