REPORT: Turkish power-generating ships in Lebanon for additional power supply

Caretaker Energy Minister Gebran Bassil said earlier this year that the Zouk and al-Jieh power plants will be renovated throughout this year, and power supply will increase all over the Lebanese regions.

In this regard, the Turkish Karadeniz Holding announced that the power ship Orhan Bey has been connected to the al-Jieh Power Plant and will be ready to generate power as of the coming week.

In a statement issued on Tuesday the company said that the power-generating ship will supply Lebanon with 270MW for 3 years.

As for the other power-generating ship Fatmagul Sultan it has been connected to the Zouk Power Plant since the 25th of March 2013.

This report will shed light on the work of the energy ministry as well as the power supply generated by the two Turkish power-generating ships.
