REPORT: Putin visits oceanarium during trip to eastern areas of Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the new campus of Far Eastern University in Vladivostock on Sunday - and didn't miss the opportunity to make friends with the first residents of the university's new oceanarium, dolphins and walruses.

He watched dolphins performing somersaults and walruses doing push-ups, and even shook hands with a walrus.

The oceanarium is aimed at teaching the next generation of Russian biologists and oceanographers about the fauna of the Pacific region.

Putin is in Russia's far east principally to meet victims of recent unprecedented flooding in the region.
