REPORT: Relatives of pharmacist Wissam al-Khatib protest outside Zahle’s Serail

Friends and affiliates of pharmacist Wissam al-Khatib held a demonstration on Saturday outside Zahle’s Serail to protest the abduction of the local pharmacist.

The state-run National News Agency reported on Sunday the 29th of September that unknown armed men kidnapped a pharmacist on Sunday morning in the city of Zahle.

The agency added that Wissam al-Khatib was abducted while he was opening his pharmacy located on the main road of the town of Karak.

On Monday the 30th of September, the kidnappers of al-Khatib demanded a ransom of $1 Million US in exchange for his release.

Al-Khatib reportedly escaped an attempt to kidnap him a month ago.
