REPORT: LAF carry out raid operations in Beirut’s Tariq al-Jdideh

The Lebanese Armed Forces carried out on Thursday raid operations in the region of Tariq al-Jdideh, Beirut, on the backdrop of an armed conflict that took place Tuesday morning.

In this context, the army arrested citizen Maher Soulaq who was transferred to the Lebanese Army Intelligence Center in the region of al-Mathaf.

However, the residents of Tariq al-Jdideh expressed their objection “to the arrest of Maher Soulaq as members of the Resistance Serail movement remained in the area,” stressing that the Lebanese army was not being impartial.

On Tuesday October 15th, a personal dispute erupted in the Beirut region of Tariq al-Jdideh, escalating into armed clash.

In the details, the bodyguard of Mufti Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Qabbani, identified as Abou Ali Chamli, was carrying a weapon while accompanying the Mufti to theb Mohammed al-Amin mosque in Downtown Beirut, provoking a number of citizens. Upon their return from prayer, gunshots and bombs were heard in the area.
