REPORT: Judge Saqr calls on Iranian embassy to provide detectives with surveillance cameras footages

The military police along with forensic evidence teams continued on Wednesday surveying the damage on the site of the twin blasts that targeted the Iranian embassy in Beirut’s Bir Hassan on Tuesday.

This, as residents of the neighborhood returned to their homes to assess the repercussion of the blasts on their properties.

In this context, security sources told LBCI that the state commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr sent a letter to the Iranian Embassy whereby he called for providing the detectives with footages from the embassy’s surveillance cameras, adding that the vehicle used by the second suicide bomber was completely destroyed.

In turn, the Lebanese Army Command - Directorate of Orientation, issued a statement in which it called on the relatives of the victims of the Iranian Embassy blasts, to take DNA tests at the Hariri University Hospital.

This comes as the corpse of the Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sheikh Ibrahim Ansari arrived to the embassy premises, where prayers will be held before transporting it to Iran to be buried.

It is to be noted that the two explosions happened in an open space, and one of them erupted above the sewage system; decreasing its intensity and causing less damage.

In parallel, CCTV footage clearly showed the faces of the 2 suicide bombers.
