REPORT: Bomb explosion at the Ain el-Helweh refugee camp kills 1 person, injures 4

A bomb exploded on Tuesday at the Ain el-Helweh refugee camp across the road that leads to the Darb el-Sim town in Sidon during the funeral of Mohammad Al-Saadi who was killed on Sunday.

Sources reported that the explosion led to the injury of 4 persons, adding that the person who planted the bomb immediately died.

Following the incident, conflicting reports emerged pertaining to the injury of former head of the Fatah-dominated Palestinian Armed Struggle Force in Lebanon Mahmoud Issa, aka al-Lino; however, sources reported to LBCI that the latter was not injured.

Meanwhile, heavy gunfire was heard in the refugee camp and at the cemetery of Darb el-Sim.

Commenting on the mentioned incident, former commander of General Headquarter of Fatah Movement in Lebanon, Major Mounir al-Maqdah told LBCI that the explosion is a criminal act that targeted the refugee camp, accusing Israel of implementing it.

Maqdah also noted that some factions aim at disrupting the security situation at the refugee camp.

On Sunday, hooded man fired several gunshots on Fatah al-Islam's member Mohammad al-Saadi killing him and injuring his brother Ramez al-Saadi in the southern region of Ain el-Helweh.
