REPORT: President Sleiman informed of March 8 forces' support to form 8-8-8 cabinet

President Michel Sleiman met on Tuesday with caretaker Minister of Health Ali Hassan Khalil, Hezbollah Secretary General's Political Assistant Hajj Houssein Khalil.

On another note, president Sleiman held talks with caretaker Minister of Interior Marwan Charbel over the security situation in the country and the investigations in the latest bombings.

An explosion rocked the Lebanese capital Beirut on Friday, December 27, targeting the convoy of former minister Mohammad Chatah.                              

Sources at the explosion site said Chatah was on his way to attend a meeting at Beit al-Wasat when the explosion occurred.                         

The explosion in Beirut's Starco claimed the lives of 8 persons, including former minister Chatah, and injured 71 others.             

Another powerful explosion shook southern Beirut, a stronghold of Hezbollah, on Thursday the 2nd of January, killing at least 5 people and injuring more than 77 others.
