REPORT: Clashes, sniping operations continue in Tripoli, number of victims increases

Sporadic clashes and sniper fire continued on Sunday between Tripoli’s Bab al-Tebbaneh and Jabal Mohsen, injuring two women.

The clashes that have been ongoing for two days in the northern city have until now killed one woman and injured 21 people, including three Lebanese Armed Forces soldiers and one General Security member.

According to the state-run National News Agency, the injured people were identified as Chadi al-Hassan, Abir al-Kayal, Saad Mechhawi, Mohammad Hassan, Walid al-Hamawi, Ahmad Nasser, Yahya Awad, Hamdi al-Bakkar, Yahya Saleh.

This as the army cut off the eastern highway linking Tripoli to Akkar, while leaving the western road open.

The clashes had intensified during the night where rocket shells were used.
