The State Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr told LBCI on Thursday that DNA tests proved that Palestinian national Nidal al-Moughayar is one of Bir Hassan's suicide bombers .
In this context, al-Moughayar’s father underwent DNA tests to confirm the identity, while sources told LBCI that Nidal disappeared from al-Baysarieh following Sidon’s Abra security events.
On Wednesday morning, two explosions rocked South Beirut's Bir Hassan region near the Iranian Cultural Center, across the Kuwaiti Embassy roundabout, killing at least ten and wounding 129 others. The explosions were caused by suicide bombers and explosive-laden vehicles. The Abdullah Azzam Brigades claimed responsibility for the twin attack via their twitter account, a group affiliated with al-Qaeda and one that had previously attacked the area citing Hezbollah's interference in the Syrian crisis as the main reason, demanding the release of Muslim inmates from Lebanese prisons.
