REPORT: Funeral held for LAF martyr Elias Khoury in Bekaa
A funeral was held on Tuesday in the Bekaa town of Jdaydet al-Feqha for Lebanese Armed Forces member Elias Khoury who was killed in the terrorist explosion that rocked Hermel on Saturday night.           

Two LAF members and a civilian were killed in the explosion that targeted an army checkpoint in the area of Jisr al-Aassi at the entrance of the Bekaa town of Hermel.              

Security sources said that the explosion was caused by a car bomb, adding that the suicide bomber detonated himself after LAF members reached to search his car. The sources noted that the explosive-laden vehicle was heading to the town of Hermel, and was not planning on carrying out the attack at the checkpoint.            

“The car that exploded in Hermel on Saturday was a black Grand Cherokee,” the Lebanese Army Command said on Sunday, adding that the vehicle contained over 125 kg of explosives.                   

Al-Nusra Front in Lebanon claimed responsibility for the attack.
