REPORT: Journalists show solidarity with al-Jazeera staff jailed in Egypt

“Journalism is not a crime” is a slogan raised by journalists and activists who staged a protest at Beirut’s Martyrs Square to express solidarity with the journalists of the Qatar-based al-Jazeera detained in Egypt.

The protest comes within a global campaign launched by the channel in at least thirty countries, in a bid to exert pressure on the Egyptian authorities and lead them to release the staff.
