REPORT: Parliamentary joint committees hold meeting over Pay Scale
The joint parliamentary committees held on Tuesday a meeting in an effort to resolve the disputable Pay Scale crisis before a two-day legislative session kicks off on Wednesday.

Sources close to the committees said a breakthrough was unlikely given the difficulties involving the funding sources.

The meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Speaker Farid Makari.

This as a meeting was held between Makari and MP Ibrahim Kanaan and Minister of Finance Ali Hassan Khalil prior to the session.

The Union Coordination Committee has threatened to relaunch a series of strikes if the salary scale is not approved on Tuesday.
