REPORT: Principal killed during school fight in Baddawi

The principal of a public school in the northern city of Baddawi was killed on Saturday while attempting to break up a fight between students.

The principal of the Baddawi School for boys, Farouk Kardovaki, was killed with a sharp object as he tried to end a clash between students from the Awad and the Mehrez families.

He was transferred to Tripoli’s government hospital, but died shortly after.

Following the incident, the school’s administration cancelled all classes and sent students home.

The security forces launched an investigation to reveal the circumstances behind the incident.
