REPORT: Cardinal Rai celebrates Mass in Bethlehem

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai celebrated on Tuesday a Mass in Bethlehem whereby he said “the Palestinians have the right to ask for an independent state.”

“Hold onto your land. We should face challenges hand in hand,” Rai said, addressing Christians.

Cardinal Rai also urged all the Palestinian people to refrain from emigrating or selling their land and to “preserve this precious legacy regardless of sacrifices”.

This comes after the Maronite Patriarch celebrated a Mass in the Church of the Resurrection in the Old City of Jerusalem to pray for peace in the Middle East.
