REPORT: Wildfire destroys Syrian refugee tents in Lebanon’s Bekaa

A wildfire erupted at dawn Saturday in Syrian refugee tents set up in Bekaa, destroying numerous makeshift homes.

The blaze chewed through more than 30 tents set up in the Bekaa Valley town of Jdita.

The Internal Security Forces launched an investigation into the incident in order to determine whether it was arson or an accident.

It is worth noting that half of the camp’s residents cast their ballots in the Syrian presidential elections while the other half boycotted the electoral process.
