REPORT: Geagea urges MP Aoun to end his boycott and attend electoral sessions
The Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea declared Wednesday that the presidential vacuum centers around the country's top post, not any other position in the state, noting that some parties act "as though nothing is wrong.”

“What are they waiting for?” Geagea asked addressing all the parliamentary blocs boycotting the electoral sessions, namely the Change and Reform bloc and Hezbollah.

During a press conference held after the seventh parliamentary session set to elect a president had failed, Geagea said that some officials justify the state of vacuum, under the pretext of having the interest Christians at hand.

In this context, the head of the LF urged MP Michel Aoun to end his boycott and attend the next session in order to elect a new president and put an end to the current situation.

Lebanon has plunged into presidential vacuum following the end of former President Michel Sleiman's mandate on May 25.

Seven electoral sessions were held, but parliament has failed so far to elect a new head of state due to lack of quorum.
