REPORT: UNIFIL, LAF launch investigation into Lebanon rocket attacks on Israel
The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) along with the Lebanese Armed Forces opened an investigation into the rockets that were launched from Lebanon towards Israel, deeming the incident "a serious violation of the UN Security Council Resolution 1701".

"The incident undermines stability in the region and poses a threat to the people's lives," the UNIFIL said in a statement on Tuesday.

"The situation now is calm and no casualties or damages were reported thus far," the UNIFIL said, adding that no one has officially claimed responsibility for the rocket attacks.

The peacekeepers also said they are working with the Lebanese Armed Forces in a bid to uphold security in the region, noting that they will conduct intensive patrols to protect citizens in southern Lebanon.
