During a visit he made to the family of the abducted soldier Saif Zebian, Jumblatt addressed Justice Minister Asharf Rifi and the judicial authorities, asking them about the reasons for the reluctance and procrastination in holding the trials of the Islamists, noting that “the country’s security is far more important than any legal detail.”
In this regard, Jumblatt called for holding separated judicial and political trials for the Islamists, instead of trying them all at once, “which would make the process more complicated.”
The MP vowed to deploy all possible efforts to release the abducted soldiers, noting that the Lebanese army struggled in Arsal, while Lebanon is facing a dangerous enemy. For more details, watch Nicole Hajal's full report in the VIDEO above
