REPORT: Jumblatt from Bekfaya: Cooperation with Gemayel aims at protecting institutions
Head of the National Struggle Front MP Walid Jumblatt revealed Thursday that he will cooperate with head of the Kataeb Party Amin Gemayel in order to launch a new initiative to reactivate the work of constitutional institutions.

Following his meeting with Gemayel in Bekfaya, Jumblatt stressed the need to prevent the country from falling into political vacuum and chaos, noting that a parliamentary mandate extension has its disadvantages, “but on the other hand, the Parliament must be preserved,” he said.

For his part, Gemayel pointed out that the institutions affected by the presidential vacuum must be protected, mainly the Lebanese army, adding that citizens must not pay the price of the politicians’ failure.
