REPORT: Abou Faour calls, on behalf of Jumblatt, for accepting a prisoner swap deal without hesitation

Public Health Minister Wael Abou Faour called Friday on behalf of the leader of Progressive Socialist Party MP Walid Jumblatt, for adopting the prisoner swap deal to free the abducted soldiers without any hesitation, noting that the cabinet of Prime Minister Tammam Salam has been under pressure in the absence of a concrete political decision.

Minister Abou Faour recalled that they have repeatedly called for hastening the trials of the Islamists inmates held at Roumieh prison, stressing the need “to end the killing and stop the negotiations conducted under the threat of the knife.”

Following his meeting with a delegation of the families of abducted troops, Abou Faour said that he did not ask the relatives to block or open any road, stating that they are the sole decision-makers in this regard.
